Advances in Manufacturing a newly re-launched journal with Professor Kuang-di XU, former president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Ji ZHOU,President of the the Chinese Academy of Engineering,as the Honorary Editors-in-Chief, and Professor Hong-jie LUO,President of Shanghai University, as the Editor-in-Chief. It is sponsored by Shanghai University and published quarterly. Its predecessor, Journal of Shanghai University (English Edition), was first published in 1997. The journal will be devoted to the integration of both theoretical research and practical applications in the covered areas of science and engineering so as to fulfill the expectation of the late Professor Wei-zang CHIEN, former President of Shanghai University and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
