Pressure has been mounting for clinical dentistry to be based on scientific evidence. However it is increasingly difficult for the practicing dentist to keep up with the increasing number of endodontic articles available today. This journal covers one endodontic topic per issue. A guest editor will invite the most qualified scientists in that topic to present relevant and cutting edge information on the chosen topic. We intend that the reader whether a student, practitioner or scientist will be optimally informed after reading each issue. We will cover the scope of endodontics every five years and then start the process again.Endodontic Topics comprises a series of monographs intended for endodontists and general practitioners with interest in endodontics. The editorial board will identify significant topics and outstanding scientists and clinicians for the individual monographs. Endodontic Topics serves as a valuable supplement to existing endodontic journals. As of 2007, two monographs are published each year. The first cycle of monographs will last 5 years and then a new cycle will commence. Some monographs in the new cycle may update previously considered topics and others will raise new issues in endodontology.
